Preview is the default file viewer and editor for image and PDF files. In an earlier post, we demonstrated how it can help us convert images to PDF on Mac.When you double click to open a PDF file in Finder, the Preview will automatically launch and open the PDF file at the same time. Hold down the button and click (or right click if you have this enabled) over the.pdf document you wish to open. Their should be an option that allows you to 'Open with' (something like that) or choose the default application (should be pretty intuitive.) Open the.pdf document with your program of choice (in my case Preview). You need to open it on your computer. Downloading and installing the Adobe Acrobat Reader app on your iPad or iPhone will not help you open these PDFs. When you try, it will say “this form requires Adobe Acrobat Reader DC for Mac or Windows”. Currently only desktop version of Adobe reader supports this. The default PDF application on a Mac is called Preview. It’s also possible to open a PDF file in your web browser. These programs are not always compatible with newer PDF files — Adobe Acrobat Reader tends to work better when it comes to viewing and printing PDFs.
